Had a bad headache yesterday and almost took something but stopped myself. Im 11 weeks and dont want to risk anything without asking. Will check with my doc but wanted to hear what others were told.
It is usually the go to safe one, but please dont decide the dose yourself or take it for days together. Ring your doctor, especially if there is a high fever, that itself needs checking. I always confirmed with mine before any tablet.
Mostly considered safe in pregnancy but I never took even this without a quick call to my gynac. Specially for the right dose and how often. Better to confirm than assume.
My gynac said paracetamol is generally considered the safer option for fever or pain in pregnancy when actually needed, but only at the dose she advised and not regularly. She was clear that I should call before taking it rather than guess the amount. So yes but on her say so, not on my own.
When I had bad headaches with all the nausea, my doctor okayed paracetamol in a specific dose and it helped. But she told me to call first each time. So get that green light from yours before taking it.
Both my pregnancies, paracetamol was the only painkiller my doctor allowed, and only when really needed. Dont touch the other painkillers without asking. And always check the dose with your gynac, not the internet.
