Is it ok to take paracetamol when trying to conceive?
We are ttc and i got a bad headache yesterday, almost took something but stopped. Now im not sure if its fine to take while trying. Will check with doc but wanted to know ur experiences first.
When I was trying to conceive and had a headache, my MIL immediately stopped me from taking any random tablets. She made me a warm cup of ginger tea and said it's better to avoid pills unless absolutely necessary. If you really need pain relief, paracetamol is okay, but do ask your doc once.
My toddler keeps me so busy now, but back when I was trying to conceive, I used to worry about every single paracetamol I took! Honestly, taking one occasionally for a headache is absolutely safe and won't harm your chances. Don't stress too much about these small things, just take it easy!
Honestly, paracetamol is generally the safest option if you have a fever or mild headache while TTC. Unlike ibuprofen, it doesn't mess with your ovulation. But my advice is always to avoid taking any pills regularly without checking with your gynac first.
My mother always told me to be very careful with medicines when trying to conceive, because you never know when you might have successful implantation. For mild pains, she'd make me rest in a dark room or put a warm compress. If you really must take paracetamol, it's considered safe, but checking with your doctor is the best way.
If you have a mild headache, try drinking a big glass of water or taking a short nap first because dehydration often causes pain. Occasional paracetamol is totally fine and doesn't affect your chances, so don't stress. Just don't make it a daily habit and you're good to go!
I recently had my baby and during my TTC days, my gynac specifically told me that paracetamol is the only safe painkiller I could take. She strictly told me to avoid ibuprofen. Just keep the doses low and only take it when you really can't bear the pain.
Beta, medicines should always be the last option when you are trying to extend your family. If you have a headache, apply some badam oil or fresh ginger paste on your forehead and rest. If the pain is too much, you can take a paracetamol tablet, but always ask your doctor first.
