We have to go to my parents place next month and its a long train journey, almost overnight. Ill be around 6 months by then. Just want to be sure its safe before booking the tickets. did any of u travel by train in pregnancy?
Train is actually one of the more comfortable ways to travel when pregnant, more leg room than a bus. Carry water, snacks and walk a little in the corridor on long journeys. Avoid it in the last few weeks unless your doctor says fine.
I travelled by train for work till my seventh month and it was manageable. Book a lower berth so you dont climb, and keep your reports handy just in case. Take an aisle or window seat where you can stretch.
Mostly fine in a normal pregnancy, but if you have any complications or it is a long trip, please ask your gynac first. For me the doctor okayed short journeys but advised against the last month. Carry your medicines and contact numbers along.
