My lower back is killing me these days, im 7 months along. The hot water bag gives so much relief but then i got worried if the heat on my back or tummy is bad for baby. Is this fine to use na?
I would be a little careful. For normal back ache it should be okay but avoid the tummy area completely. If pain is strong or frequent please mention it to your gynac instead of just managing at home.
For my leg cramps a warm bag plus light stretching helped a lot. My gynac okayed gentle warmth for muscles. Just nothing too hot and not near the abdomen.
For back and leg pain a warm bag is fine, but keep it mildly warm not too hot, and use on back or legs only. Never put it directly on your belly. That rule I followed both pregnancies.
I used to worry so much about this too. I read that on the belly it is not advised, so I only used it on my legs at night. If you are unsure, one message to your doc clears all the tension honestly.
