Have a family function coming up and my greys are showing badly, really want to color them. But im 4 months pregnant and not sure if the chemicals reach the baby or anything. Did any of u color hair during pregnancy? was it ok?
My gynac said no permanent dyes, especially in the first trimester, just to be on the absolutely safe side. If you really want to, she suggested trying henna or natural colours. After delivery, I was able to dye my hair normally again without any issue.
Our grandmas used to say avoid all chemicals during pregnancy, especially for hair and skin. But times have changed now, paapa. My doctor said mild, ammonia-free colours are generally fine after the first three months. Always good to check with your own doctor, they know best for you.
I'm also curious about this because I like to colour my hair regularly. I heard it's better to wait until after the first trimester, or maybe use natural colours only. I'm a bit shy to ask my gynac directly, but I really should, it's important to know.
I totally understand wanting to feel good and beautiful during pregnancy, it's such a big change for your body! Some docs say to avoid permanent dyes in the first trimester, but later, maybe with natural colors, it's okay. It's a personal choice, and your comfort matters, just confirm with your gynac.
Oh god, I freaked out about this too when I was pregnant! I read so much online about it. My gynac actually said it's generally fine, especially after the first trimester, but to go for ammonia-free options. So don't panic like I did, just ask your doc once to be sure.
