Is it safe to do tooth extraction during pregnancy?
My one tooth is paining badly and dentist said it might need to be pulled out. Im 5 months along and thoda scared to get it done now. Anyone got a tooth removed during pregnancy?
If you need it, get a quote from both the dentist and check if your maternity hospital covers it under their package. Usually, second trimester is the safest time, but check with your gynac first to avoid extra emergency costs.
Haha, as if pregnancy pain wasn't enough, now dental pain too! Yes, second trimester is usually safe for extraction, but let your gynac and dentist discuss the anesthesia first.
It's safe in the second trimester, but make sure your blood sugar levels are controlled if you have gestational diabetes, as high sugar can delay healing. Consult both your dentist and gynecologist before proceeding.
I had a severe toothache in my 5th month and my dentist did the extraction after consulting my gynac. It went smoothly, but do talk to your doctors first.
