Paneer is basically my comfort food and i eat it almost daily. Someone told me to be careful about it in pregnancy and now im second guessing. is it really ok or only certain types? pls share ur experience.
Paneer is honestly one of the cheapest good protein options when u r pregnant, way easier than fancy supplements. Just buy fresh or make at home with boiled milk, dont eat old paneer sitting out. Cook it well and ur sorted.
My gynac said paneer is fine as long as its from pasteurised milk and fresh, the only concern is unpasteurised soft cheeses which can carry listeria. Indian paneer is usually fine. She told me to just heat it through and avoid eating stale leftover paneer.
Paneer is totally fine and a good protein source, just make sure its fresh and made from pasteurised milk. I ate it through both pregnancies. Avoid the unpasteurised soft cheese types but normal home paneer is great.
We ate paneer regularly, my family always said its good for protein and calcium during pregnancy. Just keep it fresh and properly cooked na. If unsure about any cheese, the safe rule is pasteurised milk based.
