Is it safe to fly during first trimester of pregnancy?
I have a work trip coming up, and I'm just in my first trimester. I'm a bit nervous about flying so early in my pregnancy. Is it generally considered safe to fly during the first three months, or should I try to avoid it?
Flying is generally considered safe in an uncomplicated pregnancy, but the first trimester can be unpredictable due to nausea and fatigue. It is absolutely necessary to get a go-ahead from your gynac before booking any tickets.
Since my IVF pregnancy was highly precious, my doctor advised me to avoid any long-distance travel initially. If you do have to fly, please take all precautions and consult your doctor first. Sending you warm wishes for a safe pregnancy.
Personally, I avoided flying during my first trimester because it is a very sensitive time. If it is not urgent, maybe wait a bit. Please discuss with your doctor to make sure there are no risks involved.
Please check with your doctor before flying, as any underlying issue like low placenta or spotting can make travel risky. I had complications early on and was strictly put on pelvic rest. It is always better to be safe than sorry.
Many moms fly safely during early pregnancy without any issues. Just make sure to stay hydrated, stretch your legs, and keep your doctor informed. Wishing you a very safe and comfortable journey.
