Im about 7 weeks and we have a family wedding in another city, flight is around 2 hours. Got a little nervous since its still early days. Anyone travelled by air in first trimester, was it okay?
The flying part is fine, surviving the airplane food smell with morning sickness is the real challenge ha. Carry lemon or some snacks. But yes get a quick okay from ur doc and you're good.
My mother was scared and said dont travel early, but my doctor said short flights are fine for a healthy pregnancy. I went home for a family function in 1st trimester, took it slow. Just carry your reports and ask doc once.
Please check with your doctor first na. I had some early bleeding so my gynac told me to avoid travel that month. Every pregnancy is different so dont go just by what worked for someone else.
I flew at around 8 weeks for work and it was fine, just kept walking a bit and drank lots of water. But do tell ur gynac before booking, especially if you have any spotting or history. Mostly first trimester flying is considered okay for normal pregnancies.
Generally early pregnancy flying is safe if everything is normal, the cabin pressure etc doesnt harm baby. But the safest thing is a one line confirmation from your own gynac since she knows your case. Stay hydrated and move your legs on long flights.
