My back and legs are aching so much these days, im in my 6th month. I really want to get a body massage to relax but not sure if its allowed now. anyone got one during pregnancy, was it fine?
Because i had a high risk pregnancy, my doctor told me to avoid massage in the early months and to be careful with certain pressure points. So please check with your gynac first, especially in the first trimester or if you've had any issues. After her green light, gentle prenatal massage was lovely.
At my hospital they even had a prenatal massage service after the second trimester, fully trained therapists. I asked my obstetrician first and she cleared it. I'd suggest doing the same, ask your doctor or the hospital staff so you know it's truly safe for your case.
Gentle massage is usually fine, especially for back and legs, and it felt amazing in my second pregnancy. Just go to someone trained in prenatal massage and avoid hard pressure on the belly. Skip it in the first trimester unless your doctor okays it.
We have a long tradition of light oil massage for expecting mothers, beta, it eases the aches. But it must be gentle and by someone who knows what they're doing, no pressing on the tummy. Once your doctor says all is well, a soft maalish can be very soothing.
A gentle leg and back massage helped my swelling so much after my walks. I made sure it was a prenatal-trained person and kept pressure light. Like with exercise, i ran it by my doctor first, and once she said go ahead it was a real relief.
