Im just 8 weeks and I sleep flat on my back most nights, thats my comfortable position. Someone said dont sleep flat but I thought thats only later? Pls share, thoda confused.
While generally it's said to be safe in the first trimester, if you have any existing complications or specific concerns, it's always best to check with your gynac. My doctor was very particular about certain positions due to my history, so it's good to be cautious.
I totally understand why you'd be worried about every little thing, I was the same! But usually, sleeping flat in the first trimester is perfectly safe. The baby is still very tiny. The real recommendations for side sleeping come later in pregnancy when the baby gets bigger. Try not to stress too much, it's a common worry.
Haan, pehle trimester mein toh mostly safe hi hota hai flat sona. Baby abhi bahut chota hota hai na. Later on jab tummy badhegi, then it gets uncomfortable. Tab side pe sona padta hai, especially left side. Abhi toh enjoy karo jaise comfortable lage.
Arey yaar, pehle trimester mein toh jaise marzi so lo! Flat, ulti, seedhi - you won't get this freedom later! 😂 Once the bump grows, you'll be struggling with pillows and positions. So, yes, totally safe for now, enjoy the normal sleeping while it lasts!
Yeah, in the first trimester, it's generally fine. I slept flat most of the time because my bump wasn't showing much. It's later, in the second and third trimesters, that it becomes difficult and they recommend sleeping on your side. So don't worry too much for now.
My doctor explained that sleeping flat on your back is generally safe in the first trimester because the uterus is still small and located deep within the pelvis. The main concern, 'supine hypotensive syndrome,' occurs in later pregnancy when the heavy uterus can compress a major vein called the vena cava, reducing blood flow. So, for the first few weeks, it's usually not an issue.
From what I've read and my doc said, sleeping flat in the first trimester is generally considered okay. The baby is very small at that stage. However, with my PCOS history, I always double-checked every small thing with my gynac, just to be on the safer side. So maybe a quick word with your doctor would ease your mind.
