Is it safe to take amoxicillin 500mg during pregnancy?
Im 12 weeks and dealing with a bad throat infection, the chemist suggested this but i didnt take it. I dont want to risk anything without my gynac's ok. Did anyone get prescribed this during pregnancy?
Amoxicillin is one of the antibiotics doctors do commonly prescribe in pregnancy when needed, so it is among the safer ones. But the dose and whether you actually need it must come from your doctor. Please dont take leftover tablets on your own.
I was given antibiotics during pregnancy under close watch and it was fine. The point is it was prescribed and monitored, not self taken. Let your doctor decide the need and dose, please.
