Have to go to my mom's place which is like 8 hrs train journey. Im in 2nd trimester now and feeling fine mostly. Just thoda worried about the long sitting and jerks. Anyone travelled by train, was it ok?
My gynac said train travel is actually better than road travel because there are fewer jerks. But she advised walking in the aisle every hour to avoid blood clots and carrying home-filtered water to prevent infections.
Trains are way better than our Indian roads with those crazy potholes, trust me! Just book a lower berth unless you want to do acrobatics to get to the top, haha. Take your own pillow too!
Listen, train travel is fine but don't do it in the first or last month if possible. And please don't eat station food at all, carry your own dabba and water bottle from home.
If you have to travel for work or family, train is practical but choose express trains to save time. Book lower berth in 2AC, carry hand sanitizer, and keep your doctor's emergency contact handy.
If the doctor permits, train travel is quite safe and peaceful. Just keep chanting your prayers, stay calm, and take a lower berth so you can rest comfortably. God will protect you.
I have seen many pregnant moms travel comfortably by train. Just make sure to book AC coach to avoid crowd and dust, carry your own snacks, and don't lift any heavy bags yourself.
