Is it safe to travel in rickshaw during pregnancy?
I dont have a car and auto is my main transport for daily work and checkups. Im 5 months and the roads here are full of gaddhe, every bump makes me nervous. Is it okay or should i avoid? anyone else managing like this?
When I was pregnant, my hospital classes and even my doctor made it very clear about travel. Rickshaws are generally not recommended because of the sudden jerks and potholes on our roads. If you absolutely *have* to, keep the ride very short and slow. But honestly, always best to check with your doctor and get their specific guidance based on your health.
Oh god, rickshaws! I remember clutching onto the handle like my life depended on it, hoping we wouldn't hit any potholes. It's safe-ish for short distances if the driver is careful, but honestly, it's a bumpy ride. After a point, my back just couldn't take it. Prefer taxis if possible, even if it costs a bit more. Your back will thank you!
Beta, rickshaws can be a bit bumpy, na? Especially on Indian roads. If it's a very short distance and the roads are smooth, maybe. But for longer rides, or if the roads are bad, it's better to avoid it if possible. The jerks can be uncomfortable and potentially not safe. Listen to your body and your doctor's advice on this.
Well, rickshaws are okay for really short distances, like down the street, if you don't have other options. But generally, the sudden brakes and bumps can be a concern. Specially in the first and last trimester. If you're using one, just tell the driver to go slow and avoid bad patches. Better to use a cab or auto if available.
Humare ghar pe toh saasuji ne strictly mana kar diya tha rickshaw mein jaane se, especially after my 5th month. Woh kehti thi jharke lagte hain toh baby ko problem ho sakti hai. So I always tried to take a car or an auto. Gharwaalon ki baat sunna bhi accha hota hai sometimes.
Please be very careful with rickshaws. I had some complications early in my pregnancy, and my doctor strictly advised against any bumpy rides. Every pregnancy is different, so what's fine for one might not be for another. Definitely, definitely ask your gynac if it's safe for *you* specifically. Don't take chances.
Rickshaws are fine for very short, absolutely essential trips on decent roads. But for daily commute or long distances, absolutely not. The jerks and sudden stops are not good for your pregnancy. Try to arrange for a safer mode of transport like a cab or carpool if possible. Convenience can't outweigh safety here.
I felt so anxious about everything during my first pregnancy. My husband wouldn't let me take a rickshaw for long distances because he was worried about the jerks. For short, unavoidable trips, I just held my belly tightly and prayed. I think it depends on how comfortable *you* feel, but always prioritize safety.
