Its kathal season at home and my mom made sabzi but my MIL said avoid it during pregnancy. Now im confused, ive always loved jackfruit. Im 4 months along, is it actually safe to eat or no?
Beta in our home we always said eat it in moderation, not too much at one time. Ghar pe my mother used to give a small bowl after lunch only. If your tummy feels heavy then skip it that day.
I craved jackfruit so much in my second trimester, it is so tasty in season. I just kept the portion sensible and enjoyed it guilt free. Ripe one is the way to go.
Ripe jackfruit in normal amounts is totally fine, I ate it in both my pregnancies. Just dont overdo it because it can feel heavy on the stomach. Anything in excess is the problem, not jackfruit itself.
I am a bit careful with sweet fruits because of my PCOS and sugar tendency. Small amount of ripe jackfruit was fine for me. If you have any sugar concern, just run the quantity by your doctor.
We have jackfruit a lot down south and I ate it during pregnancy without any issue. My amma said small portions only and I listened. But if you have gestational diabetes pls ask your gynac first because it is sweet.
