My mom keeps making jowar rotis for me these days saying its better than wheat. Im in my 5th month and honestly i do feel lighter after eating it. Just wanted to know if its actually good for baby or its just a ghar pe thing?
I had GD so my dietician actually suggested jowar over normal rice because it doesnt spike sugar fast. Worked well for me. If you also have sugar concern check with your doc before fixing your diet.
We make jowar dosa and roti at home, my mother always said it is good for the stomach in pregnancy. I had it through out and felt fine. But ya if you have any sugar issue do ask your gynac once.
Yes jowar is totally fine, I ate jowar roti almost daily in both my pregnancies. It keeps you full and digestion stays light. Just dont eat only jowar, mix with wheat sometimes for variety.
I switched to jowar and bajra rotis when my weight gain was on higher side and it helped me feel lighter. High fibre so good for constipation too which is a real problem in pregnancy lol.
Jowar is cheap and filling, perfect honestly. I used to make jowar bhakri with sabzi, kept me full for hours so less snacking. Good simple food without spending much.
