My mom keeps telling me to switch from wheat to jowar rotis these days. Im in second trimester and trying to eat healthier. Just wanted to know if its actually good for this time?
Very good dear, jowar is light and high in fibre, helps with the constipation problem too which is so common in pregnancy. My family always had jowar in season. Just eat variety, dont stick to only one grain.
Haan it's good and not expensive at all. Jowar is easily available and healthy, helps digestion. Simple home food like this is honestly better than fancy stuff during pregnancy.
Honestly I prefer jowar roti these days, feels lighter and keeps me full longer. Good fibre and minerals. I rotate between wheat and jowar so I get a mix, works well for me.
I had GD and my dietician actually told me to switch to jowar and bajra roti, they kept my sugar steadier than wheat. So yes it's good, just balance with dal and sabzi. But if you have any condition, confirm portions with your doctor.
