Im having a bad blocked nose and someone suggested karvol drops for steam. Im 5 months pregnant and dont want to use anything random. Anyone used it during pregnancy?
Its an inhalant for congestion, not taken internally, so its on the milder side. But pregnancy is a special case so I always say confirm with your own doctor before using it. For mild blockage, steam and propping your head up at night helps a lot too.
I wouldnt assume anything is safe in pregnancy without asking. Please check with your gynac or pharmacist before using Karvol, even inhaled products. For a basic blocked nose, plain steam and saline drops are usually the safest first try.
Karvol is the inhalation capsule for blocked nose right? Its just put on a tissue or pillow to inhale vapours, not swallowed, and many use it for cold relief. Even so, in pregnancy I'd still run it by your doctor before using, just to be safe. Steam inhalation is another gentle option.
Beta for a stuffy nose, simple steam inhalation with just hot water works well and is very safe. Before using any medicated thing like Karvol in pregnancy, do ask your doctor once. No need to take chances with the little one.
