My MIL has started adding kesar to my milk every night saying its good for the baby and fair complexion and all. im in 2nd trimester. i didnt say no but wanted to know if there is any truth to this or how much is okay.
Beta kesar is a lovely tradition, a tiny pinch in milk is what we always gave. But the key word is tiny, a few strands only, not spoons. In small amounts it's fine, just dont overdo it thinking more is better.
My saas insisted on kesar milk every night, said it's good for the baby. I had just a strand or two in warm milk and enjoyed it honestly. Bas zyada nahi, and I'd checked with my doc once that small amount is okay.
We had this in our family too, a little kesar in milk. It's comforting more than anything. Just a few strands is plenty, and I always trusted my doctor's nod before making it a daily thing.
Honestly kesar is pricey and a couple strands is all you need, so dont feel pressured to buy loads. It's more a feel good thing than a must. Your actual nutrition from regular food and iron matters way more.
Culturally it's loved and a small pinch is generally considered okay. But it's strong stuff in large amounts, so keep it minimal. I'd just run it by your gynac once, mine said a tiny bit in milk was no problem for me.
