My MIL soaks kismis at night and gives me in the morning, says its good for blood and baby. I do like it but want to know if too much is ok in pregnancy. Anyone been told the same?
Yes its a good healthy snack, iron and fibre both. I kept some soaked ones handy when I had sweet cravings, better than chocolate. Just keep the quantity small, it's quite sugary.
Haan na, kismis is good for iron and it's a nice sweet bite when craving hits. I used to soak it with badam at night. Thoda hi khao though, ekdum zyada nahi.
It is nutritious, but a small caution from me, dried fruits like raisins have concentrated sugar. With my GD I had to limit them. For a normal pregnancy a small handful is fine, but if your sugar is being monitored, ask your doctor about quantity.
Beta kishmish is good, it has iron and helps with constipation which troubles many in pregnancy. We always soaked a few overnight and ate in morning. Just a handful is enough na, dont eat too much because of the sugar.
