Constipation has become really bad this trimester and someone at home suggested liquid paraffin. i dont want to take anything that could harm the baby. is this safe to use in pregnancy or should i ask my doc for something else?
Honestly anything for constipation should be cleared by your doctor first in pregnancy, they prefer safer options usually. I wouldnt just pick liquid paraffin off the shelf. A quick call to the gynac saves a lot of worry.
I'd be careful with laxatives like this and not take it on my own. For constipation I went with more water, fibre, fruits and soaked raisins which helped naturally. If its really bad, please ask your gynac what is safe for you.
I never used paraffin, I managed constipation with diet and walking. Dont self prescribe laxatives during pregnancy, get your doctor to recommend. They usually have a preferred safe one.
