I usually use Listerine mouthwash, but now that I'm pregnant, I'm worried if it's safe. Can I continue using Listerine during pregnancy, or should I stop?
Even I got super anxious about mouthwash in my second trimester, thought maybe chemical absorption could happen. Did anyone else get paranoid about small things like this? I ended up switching to warm salt water rinses just in case.
It is generally safe to use normal mouthwash but try to get an alcohol-free one if possible. Just don't swallow it and you will be fine, take care dear.
Actually I also wanted to ask this because my gums are bleeding a bit lately. Is the normal alcohol-based Listerine fine or should we switch to non-alcoholic ones? My next doc visit is next week, let me know if u have already asked yours.
I had thyroid issue during my pregnancy so I was extra careful and always asked my gynac before using anything, even mouthwash. Better to show the bottle to your doctor in your regular follow-up visit just to be 100% sure na.
Oh dear I totally understand how even small things like choosing a mouthwash can make us overthink so much! Your protective motherly instincts are already working. Just use an alcohol-free one, it is completely safe and will keep you fresh.
