Litchi season is here and I am craving it so much. I am in second trimester and sugar levels are normal till now, but family keeps warning me. Did you eat litchi while pregnant?
Litchi is fine in moderation, it's juicy and has water content which is nice in summer. Just dont eat a whole bowl at once, it's a bit sugary. I ate a few daily in season and had no issue.
Litchi itself is okay but it's quite high in sugar, so keep the portion small. I had GD so I had to be extra careful and only took 2-3. If your sugar is normal, a small bowl is fine, just dont overdo it.
Fruit is great as long as it's balanced. Litchi is hydrating but sugary, so I count it as my fruit serving and not extra. Pair it with some protein snack so the sugar doesn't spike. Works well for me.
We enjoyed litchi at home during the season, it's a sweet treat na. In normal amounts it's fine. Wash it well and eat fresh ones. If you have any sugar concern, just mention to your doctor at the next visit.
Omg litchi season is my weakness! I have a few and stop, because it is sweet and I don't want to overdo the sugar. Fresh washed wale lena, tinned juice wala nahi. Enjoy it yaar, just in limit.
