Is lower back pain a sign of pregnancy or miscarriage?
I am around 6 weeks by dates and having dull lower back pain since morning. No bleeding right now, but because of one previous loss I am getting very worried. Should I check with gynac if it continues?
In my hospital, they always told us to call the nurse or doc for any new symptom. For lower back pain, it's crucial to tell your gynac or even the hospital's emergency line if it's severe. They'll ask detailed questions about the pain, intensity, and if there are any other symptoms like bleeding. Don't hesitate to reach out to them directly.
I'm in my second trimester and I also get lower back pain sometimes, it makes me so anxious! I always wonder if it's normal or something to worry about. Has anyone else felt this? Is it just the body changing or should I be more concerned about it being a bad sign?
Oh my god, back pain! I had it so bad in my first trimester, I was constantly worried. It can definitely be a normal early pregnancy symptom as your body adjusts and ligaments stretch. But if it's severe, or comes with spotting/cramping, don't wait. Mine was just normal, but always get it checked if you're concerned.
Any new pain, especially lower back pain, combined with the possibility of pregnancy or miscarriage, *must* be discussed with your gynac without delay. It's impossible for us to differentiate online. Only your doctor can perform the necessary checks and provide an accurate diagnosis. Please call them.
Back pain is super common as your body shifts. Sometimes gentle stretches or light walking, if your doctor has cleared you for exercise, can help. But if you're worried about miscarriage, absolutely do not self-diagnose or try home remedies. Get it checked by your gynac right away to rule out anything serious.
Lower back pain can be a symptom of both early pregnancy due to hormonal changes and ligament stretching, or unfortunately, a sign of miscarriage if accompanied by bleeding or severe cramping. My doctor explained that if it's mild and intermittent, it's often normal. But persistent, severe pain or anything combined with spotting needs immediate medical evaluation.
