I used to have matcha almost daily before, kinda miss it now. Im in my second tri and confused about the caffeine part. Anyone still having it in pregnancy?
Maine toh kabhi matcha tea nahi pee, hamare yahan simple milk tea ya adrak wali chai hi peete hain. Par agar aapko peena hai, toh doctor se ek baar pooch lena achha rahega. Pregnancy mein thodi saavdhani rakhna hamesha sabse badiya hota hai.
I completely understand how hard it is to give up your favorite daily drinks when you are pregnant, it can feel like so much restriction. Matcha does contain quite a bit of caffeine, so it might make your anxiety or heart rate go up a bit. Try to limit it to just a tiny cup occasionally to feel safe.
Matcha has way more caffeine than regular green tea, and I remember completely panicking after having just half a cup because I thought it would harm the baby! It is generally safe in very small amounts, but please track your daily caffeine limit so you don't overdo it. Maybe ask your doctor if you should avoid it completely to be stress-free.
I love matcha lattes so much but I read online that it can interfere with folic acid absorption! Is this actually true? I have cut down to just once a week now, but I would love to know if anyone's doctor told them it's completely fine to drink daily.
Because of my past loss, I became extremely cautious about everything I consumed, especially drinks with high caffeine like matcha. While a small amount might be technically okay, I personally chose to avoid it completely during my pregnancy just for peace of mind. Please check with your doctor to see what is safe for you.
During my recovery after C-section, I was craving matcha so badly but my doctor told me to limit it because caffeine can pass into breastmilk too. While you are pregnant, just a small cup occasionally is fine, but make sure you don't drink it late in the evening so you can sleep well.
