Is maternity insurance applicable after conceiving?
We didnt take any maternity cover before and now im already 2 months pregnant. Is it too late to get a policy that will help with delivery costs? Anyone managed to get insurance after conceiving?
Better to call the insurance company directly and ask, dont go by what people say. When we delivered, the hospital insurance desk also helped check our policy terms. Most plans need u to buy well before conceiving though.
Check ur company group insurance first if u r working, those sometimes cover maternity without long waiting unlike personal policies. For personal ones, buying after conceiving rarely works for the current pregnancy. Read the fine print yaar.
Honestly most maternity covers have a waiting period of like 2 to 4 years, so if u take it after conceiving it usually wont cover this delivery. We learnt this the hard way. Read the policy waiting period carefully before paying.
