I take methotrexate for my arthritis and we are now planning to conceive. Quite worried about whether i can continue it. I will definitely ask my doctor but wanted to know if any of you faced this.
Please dont take this on ur own na. From what my doctor told me methotrexate is not given in a normal pregnancy at all, its actually used in some specific situations under close watch. Pls talk to ur gynac before touching it.
This is really not something to take casually. It can be unsafe in pregnancy from what I understand, and the right person to confirm for your case is your own doctor. Call the clinic and ask, they wont mind.
I wont give u medical gyaan on this. I only know my doctor stopped a couple of my regular tablets the moment I tested positive and replaced them. Best to ask her about this one specifically.
When I asked my gynac about meds, she clearly said methotrexate is one of those drugs they avoid in pregnancy because it affects the baby. It has very specific medical uses and is only given by doctors who monitor closely. Honestly not a self decision type medicine.
I had a lot of medicines for my pcos and trust me, the day I planned pregnancy my doc reviewed every single one. Some had to stop completely. Im not sure about this exact one so let ur gynac guide, dont guess.
