My doc had given some supplements and one of them has methylcobalamin written on it. Im 4 months now and just like to double check things before taking. Anyone else been prescribed this?
My doctor prescribed this to me because I am a vegetarian and was low on B12. It is safe, but please ensure your gynac recommends the right dosage for you.
Methylcobalamin is basically Vitamin B12, yaar. It's actually prescribed to many pregnant women, but please don't take it on your own. Confirm the dosage with your doctor first.
I was prescribed B12 along with my thyroid meds, and it helped. Just make sure you get regular blood tests and let your doctor decide the exact dosage for you.
It's a common B12 supplement and completely safe if your doctor has prescribed it. Never take random supplements on your own during pregnancy, always run it by your gynac.
It is safe as it's just Vitamin B12, which is good for the baby's nerves. But instead of self-medicating, get a prescription from your doc and enjoy some nutrient-rich food too!
