My doctor mentioned metronidazole for an infection and I got scared after reading online. I am not taking anything without her instructions, but I want to hear experiences. Has anyone been prescribed it while pregnant?
Honestly it depends on the trimester and why its prescribed, so I really cant tell you safe or not. Just dont buy it over the counter, ask the doctor who knows your pregnancy.
I wont say yes or no on a medicine, please dont take it on your own. My gynac decided what was safe for me based on my stage. Just ring your doctor before taking anything.
Please dont self medicate during pregnancy at all. I had a situation where even a common medicine had to be changed for me. Call your doctor and they will tell you what is okay.
This is really a question for your gynac, not the community. Some antibiotics are given in pregnancy and some avoided in early weeks. Let the doctor weigh it for your specific case.
