We get a lot of mosquitoes at home in the evening and i usually light a coil in my room. Now im 4 months and the smell suddenly feels too strong, started worrying if the smoke is ok for baby. Anyone used coils through their pregnancy?
I avoided coils during pregnancy because the smoke felt too strong for me, used to make me cough. I switched to mosquito nets and those plug in liquid machines in a ventilated room. If you must use anything, keep the windows open and dont sit right next to it.
The smoke from coils can be irritating and its better to limit it in pregnancy. I'd suggest nets or keeping the room well ventilated if you use any repellent. If you have asthma or breathing issues, do mention it to your doctor.
We always preferred nets at home, my amma never liked coil smoke filling the room. For pregnancy I'd say go with the net or wear full sleeves in the evening. Keep it natural where you can.
My MIL was the one who told me to stop the coils, she said the smoke isnt good for the baby. We shifted to a good old mosquito net over the bed and it worked fine. Nets are honestly the safest, no chemicals at all.
A simple mosquito net is cheap and lasts ages, I just bought one big net and was sorted for the whole pregnancy. No need to inhale coil smoke daily na. Saves money and you breathe easy too.
