We order chinese and maggi quite often at home and i suddenly remembered they have ajinomoto in them. Now im a bit guilty since im in my first tri. is it really something to avoid or am i overthinking?
I prefer keeping packaged and MSG heavy food minimal during pregnancy, just feels better to eat fresh. It's not like one bowl will harm, but daily is too much. If u have BP or sugar issues then definitely ask ur doc.
From what my doctor said, MSG in normal food amounts isn't really proven harmful, but a lot of processed and Chinese type food is just very salty and not great overall. I kept such food occasional. Balanced home food is the safest bet.
I was told to watch processed and packaged food more for the salt and additives than MSG specifically. Too much salt isn't good when you're pregnant. I mostly stuck to fresh home cooked stuff and felt better for it.
Honestly i still had my occasional noodles and fried rice craving and it was fine in small amounts. I just didn't make it a daily thing yaar. Everything in moderation, na.
