We ordered chinese yesterday and after eating I suddenly got scared thinking about ajinomoto and all. Now im second guessing every packaged food. Is MSG really something to avoid in pregnancy or am I overthinking?
From what I read MSG in normal food amounts is considered okay, but a lot of MSG heavy food is usually also very salty and oily which isn't great in pregnancy anyway. I just avoided too much packaged and Chinese takeout. Ask your doctor if you have BP issues.
Occasional Maggi or noodles wont harm, dont panic if you ate some. Just dont make it a daily thing because of the salt and processed stuff. Home cooked is always better in these months.
My worry with MSG foods was more the salt and refined carbs honestly. With my sugar issues I cut back on all that packaged stuff. If you eat it rarely its not a big deal but home food is safer.
