I love mushroom sabzi and used to have it almost every week before. Now im 4 months pregnant and my MIL says avoid it, but i dont know if thats just an old belief. Is mushroom actually fine to eat now?
My doctor said store bought button mushrooms are fine as long as they're well cooked, the only caution is to avoid wild mushrooms you cant identify. Cooking kills any bacteria, so wash and cook them thoroughly. Good source of nutrients otherwise.
Honestly normal edible mushrooms, properly cooked, are perfectly good and packed with nutrients. The main rule is no raw and no unknown wild ones. If you ever have a specific allergy concern, just mention it to your doctor.
Beta mushroom is okay if it's the proper edible kind and cooked well. We never eat it raw or any jungli type. Cook it nicely with little spice and it's fine, dont eat too much at once.
Yes mushrooms are fine and nutritious, just make sure they are the common edible ones and cooked properly, never raw. I had them in sabzi and soups during both pregnancies. Avoid any wild or unknown variety though.
