My MIL cooks everything in sarso oil at ghar and now she wants me to do oil massage with it also. Im 5 months and just wondering if its actually fine during pregnancy ya should i switch. Anyone using mustard oil these days?
In our home, Amma always says mustard oil is very good for body massage to keep the skin warm and soft. But honestly, I asked my gynac first because some people can be sensitive to the strong smell. She said it is perfectly fine to use it externally, just avoid eating too much raw oil.
Oh god, the smell of sarson ka tel was a major trigger for my morning sickness, I couldn't stand it even in the kitchen! If you aren't feeling nauseous, it's actually great for dry skin during winters. Just don't force yourself if the smell makes u feel pukish, listen to your body.
I totally understand how much you want to do everything perfectly for your little bundle of joy. Mustard oil is so traditional and warm, my mother used to gently apply it on my belly with so much love. It is very safe and beautiful for a light massage, just feel that connection with your baby.
Yaar, in this third trimester, my feet are like balloons and I am too tired to even look at oil. My MIL wanted to massage my back with warm mustard oil, it actually felt quite nice but the smell made me want to eat fish fry immediately! Just check with your doc once if you have any itching.
Humare yahan toh bina sarson ke tel ke koi kaam hi nahi hota, barson se sab use karte hain. Belly pe thoda garm karke lagao toh stretch marks me bhi aaram milta hai. Doctor se bhi maine pucha tha toh unhone bola ki skin ke liye bilkul badhiya hai.
I didn't have much time for elaborate oil massages during my pregnancy because of office. But I did use a little warm mustard oil for my dry feet before sleeping sometimes, and it really helped with the aches. It's totally fine, just make sure u buy a good organic brand to avoid any chemicals.
I completely understand why you are asking, every little thing we eat or apply makes us worry so much when we are pregnant. I also panicked about using mustard oil for cooking thinking it's too 'hot'. My doctor reassured me that normal quantities in food are absolutely safe, so please don't stress.
