My BP was a little high at last checkup and gynac mentioned this name. Im in my 28th week and honestly i get worried before starting anything new. Anyone here took it during pregnancy, did it suit you?
This is a BP medicine na, pls dont take it on your own. My gynac put me on something for high BP in 7th month but only after checking everything properly. Whatever your doc decides for you is the right call, dont go by what worked for someone else.
Honestly for any medicine in pregnancy the safe answer is whatever your treating doctor says. It is used in pregnancy in many cases but the dose and need is very individual. Let your gynac guide you, that's always best.
I was on regular meds through my whole pregnancy for a different thing, and honestly the key was follow up every visit. If your doc gives nifedipine just keep your BP checks regular and tell her any side effects. Dont stop or skip without asking her.
My doctor actually prescribed this to me when my pressure was high, she said it's commonly used in pregnancy and safe when monitored. But she was very clear it has to be her decision and dose, not self started. Ask your gynac why she is suggesting it, they explain nicely if u ask.
If a doctor has prescribed it for u, then trust that. These BP type meds are given carefully in pregnancy and they know what's safe. Dont read random things online and panic, just ask your own doctor directly.
