Is nitrofurantoin safe in first trimester of pregnancy?

I have a UTI and the doc prescribed this but im only 8 weeks and a little nervous about taking anything right now. Did anyone here take it early in pregnancy? plan to double check with my gynac but wanted to hear real experiences.

When I had a UTI my doc said timing in pregnancy matters for this one, she avoided it close to delivery and picked something else early on. So honestly it depends on your week and your case. Best to let your gynac decide, dont rely on what worked for someone else.

Please dont take this on your own decision. My gynac was very particular about which antibiotic in early weeks, she changed mine after checking. Call your doctor and confirm before taking even one tablet.

Antibiotics in pregnancy are not a self prescribe thing yaar. My husband always says the doctor weighs the trimester before writing it. Just message your gynac, they usually reply fast for this.
