Random question but my MIL keeps saying avoid onion during these months. We use it in almost every dish so im confused. Is there actually any issue eating it or its just one of those beliefs?
Onion in cooked food is perfectly fine and healthy, beta. Some elders even keep sliced onion near in summer to beat the heat. Eat it cooked normally, nothing to worry about.
Cooked onion in everything, no issue at all, it makes food taste like food honestly, haha. Raw onion gave me a bit of acidity so I had it less. Otherwise totally a normal part of the plate.
Onion is part of our daily cooking and its absolutely fine, it has good nutrients too. I ate it cooked all through my pregnancy. Just be a little careful with raw onion in salads, wash well, and you are good.
