Is permanent hair straightening safe during pregnancy?
Theres a function coming up and I was thinking of getting my hair straightened. But thoda scared about the chemicals reaching baccha. Did anyone get it done safely?
Hair treatments use very strong chemicals that get into the bloodstream. Just like we are extra careful with what we eat and drink, we have to be careful with skin/hair products. I'd say avoid it, safety of baby comes first.
Yaar honestly, permanent straightening contains formaldehyde which is actually very risky to inhale during pregnancy. Salon sessions take 3-4 hours and sitting in those fumes is a big no-no. Just go for a safe hair spa instead!
Oh please don't do it right now, chemicals can be absorbed through the scalp and I would overthink so much. What if it harms the baby? It's better to avoid any chemical treatments till delivery to keep your mind at peace.
I am trying to conceive and even I avoided getting mine done. The strong fumes and harsh chemicals like formaldehyde might not be safe. Maybe we can try natural masks or simple blow dries for now?
When I asked my dermatologist and gynac at my hospital, they strictly said no to permanent straightening in the first two trimesters. The fumes are actually toxic to breathe in. Always clear it with your hospital staff before booking any salon appt.
Nahi beta, ye sab chemical waali cheezein abhi mat karvao. Normal tel lagao aur baal baandh ke rakho. Baby hone ke baad karva lena, abhi risk kyun lena humein.
