My skin is so dry these days and i keep using petroleum jelly on my lips and feet. Then suddenly got worried if its okay now that im pregnant. Anyone else use it through pregnancy?
For external skincare it's considered safe since it's not absorbed much. I'd just say if you mean swallowing it or using it for anything internal, then ask your doctor first. For dry skin, totally fine.
I used plain petroleum jelly even after my section for the dry skin around, and my doctor never had an issue with it. For external use it's quite gentle. Just dont apply on any open wound without asking.
Petroleum jelly like Vaseline is generally considered fine in pregnancy, I checked on my app too. I used it for dry lips and cracked heels all 9 months. Just buy a plain one without extra fragrance and you're good.
Honestly it's the cheapest thing that worked for my dry skin and cracked heels. No need to buy fancy expensive pregnancy creams. Plain petroleum jelly did the job and it's safe externally.
Used it both pregnancies for dry skin and chapped lips, no problem. It just sits on top of skin, doesnt go inside. Plain Vaseline type is safe, skip the heavily perfumed ones.
