Caught a really bad cold and the cough syrup at home has phenylephrine hcl written on it. Im 14 weeks and didnt take it, just felt unsure. Pls share if anyone knows.
This is a decongestant found in cold medicines, and many doctors prefer to avoid it especially in early pregnancy. Please dont take any cold syrup without checking. Ask your gynac, mine gave me safer alternatives when I had a cold.

I'd avoid cold combo medicines with this unless doctor okays. For a blocked nose I just did steam, warm fluids and saline drops, worked fine. Always run any tablet past your gynac first.
Beta for cold I never took those mixed tablets, doctor mana kiya tha. Steam lo, garam paani piyo, kaadha thoda. But if fever is high or it's bad, go to doctor, dont self medicate.
