My MIL almost snatched the plate when i was eating pineapple yesterday, saying it causes miscarriage. Im in my second trimester now. Is there actually any truth to this or just an old wives tale yaar?
In our time elders always said avoid pineapple, papaya all that in early months. I'd say if your pregnancy is going smooth a little bit won't harm, but in the first trimester many of us just skip it to be relaxed in mind. Up to you and what your doctor feels comfortable with.
At home my mother told me to avoid it in the first three months and I did just for peace of mind. After that I had it without thinking twice. My doctor said moderate amount is totally okay, so listen to her over random advice.
Honestly a normal slice of pineapple is fine, I ate it both times. The whole pineapple causes miscarriage thing comes from eating like huge amounts of the core, which nobody actually does. A small bowl as fruit, no issue. If you have any risk pregnancy then ask your doc to be safe.
Ufff I was craving pineapple like crazy and got so scared from google. My gynac literally laughed and said eat a normal amount, stop reading horror stories yaar. So I enjoyed my bowl guilt free.
I'd keep it moderate and not overthink one fruit. I had a slightly cautious pregnancy so I checked with my doctor before adding new things, and she was fine with normal pineapple. Maybe just ask yours once if you're worried, that settles the mind.
