My MIL got really tense when she saw me eating pineapple and said its not good in early pregnancy. Im just 8 weeks so now im scared. Is this true or just one of those old sayings?
I personally avoided it especially in early pregnancy just for my own peace of mind after my past loss. Its probably fine in small amounts but if you are anxious like me, no harm skipping it and asking your doctor.
A normal serving of pineapple is fine, the whole baby comes early myth is from eating like kilos of it which nobody does. I had pineapple both times in normal amounts, no issue. Just dont go overboard.
Haha the amount of pineapple you would need to actually cause anything, you would be sick of pineapple first. A slice or two for craving is fine yaar, dont let the WhatsApp forwards scare you.
The scare is mostly exaggerated, you would need huge quantities for any effect. Moderate amount is generally considered safe. That said if you have a sensitive or high risk pregnancy, just confirm with your gynac.
Beta our elders always said avoid pineapple early on as a precaution, especially first three months. A small bit later is okay. If you feel unsure, just skip it and have other fruits, plenty of safe options.
