Someone at home told me dont touch pineapple in pregnancy, can cause problem. But i love it yaar and now im scared to even eat a small piece. Is this really true or just one of those things people say?
Personally, I stayed away from pineapple in my first trimester because of what people said, but later I had a few pieces occasionally. I didn't face any issues, but do what makes you feel comfortable.
Actually, pineapple contains bromelain which some believe can soften the cervix, though in very tiny amounts. It is always safer to double-check with your gynac before adding it to your diet.
Beta, in our times we were told to strictly avoid raw papaya and pineapple during early months as they are considered garam. It is better to eat safe fruits like apples and pomegranates instead.
Unless you are planning to eat like 10 whole pineapples in one sitting, a few slices won't do anything! I ate pineapple pizza throughout my second trimester and my baby is perfectly fine, haha.
While natural foods are great, traditional beliefs say pineapple can cause heat in the body. If you feel any unusual cramping or discomfort after eating it, stop immediately and consult your doctor.
