I'm craving pineapple, but I've heard mixed things about eating it during pregnancy. Is it safe to eat pineapple while pregnant, or should I avoid it completely because of some beliefs?
I was so terrified of eating the wrong thing that I completely avoided pineapple, papaya, and even grapes throughout my 9 months! I kept worrying even a single bite would cause labor. If you are anxious like me, just avoid it for your peace of mind.
Ghar ke bade-bade always tell us to avoid pineapple because it is considered 'garam'. I avoided it in my first trimester just to be safe. But if you have any sudden pain or spotting after eating it, call your doctor immediately.
I had bleeding in my first trimester, so my gynac had put me on a very strict diet list. If you have any history of complications or sensitive pregnancy, please don't take any chances with controversial foods. Ask your doctor directly.
Having a couple of slices of sweet pineapple is totally fine and actually helped my morning sickness! 🍍 Just don't eat the core since that has the most bromelain. Eat in moderation and stay happy! 😊
According to my pregnancy tracker app, eating a few pieces of ripe pineapple is perfectly fine and won't cause harm. The myth about it causing miscarriage is because of bromelain, but you'd have to eat massive amounts for that. Just enjoy a small bowl occasionally!
