Doc has put me on this injection for an infection, im 26 weeks. The name sounds so heavy that i got a bit tense reading it. Did anyone take this during pregnancy, was it ok for baby?
I have seen many moms here being prescribed this when they had severe UTI or other infections during pregnancy. It’s given through IV usually, so it’s always done under medical supervision anyway. Trust your doctor, dear, they will never give anything that harms the little one.
When I had a bad kidney infection during my second trimester, my doc had to put me on this. I was so worried about the baby, but she was born perfectly healthy and we are breastfeeding beautifully now. Just trust your gynac and make sure you eat light, curd-rice helps with antibiotic stomach upset.
Omg, even the name sounds so scary! I would literally spend hours googling every single ingredient when I was pregnant and end up crying. Please please double check with your doctor once more just to be absolutely sure, but try to breathe, they know what is safe for the baby.
Actually, this is a category B antibiotic, which is generally considered safe during pregnancy if there is a severe infection. But honestly, you shouldn't take any such medication without a direct prescription from your gynac. Every pregnancy is different, so let your doctor make the call.
See, this is a strong IV antibiotic, not something u just pop for a simple cold. If your doctor has prescribed it, it’s only because the infection is serious and needs to be treated quickly. Don't stress too much, just follow the course your gynac gave and drink lots of water.
