I have been using this toner in my routine for over a year and dont want to mess up my skin now. But pregnancy made me cautious about every product. Has anyone continued using it while expecting?
Honestly I just simplified everything and stopped overthinking my shelf full of products. If you're unsure about the tonic, park it for now, your skin wont mind a break. Ask a derm when you can.
Glycolic acid in low concentration is mostly considered safe topically, but the safest move is to confirm with a dermatologist who knows your skin. During pregnancy I leaned towards gentler products and saved the strong stuff for after. No harm in asking your doctor.
I checked my skincare on a pregnancy safe ingredient app and Pixi Glow Tonic has glycolic acid which is generally considered okay in small amounts, but it does have a bit of salicylic too. Most derms say low strength AHA is fine, just dont layer too many actives. I'd run your exact bottle past your doctor or derm to be safe.
I kept my routine super simple both pregnancies, just cleanser, moisturiser and sunscreen, and dropped all the acids and retinols. Glow tonic has acids so I personally paused it. If you really want to use it, ask a dermatologist first.
I was so confused about my whole skincare too, half the internet says yes half says no. Did anyone else just stop all the acid stuff to be safe? That's what I ended up doing because the worry wasnt worth it.
