There was a pulse polio drive in our area and they were giving drops to everyone. Im 5 months pregnant and not sure if i should have taken it or avoided. Bit confused now, did anyone check with their doctor about this?
Vaccines during pregnancy need to be cleared by your doctor case by case. The pulse polio drops given to kids is a different thing from adult vaccination. Best to just ring your gynac and confirm what applies to you.
Honestly vaccine safety in pregnancy varies, so this isnt something to guess on. Your doctor will know exactly what is and isnt advised for you. I always cleared every such thing with mine first.
This is really a question for your gynac since it depends on the type and your situation. My doc said the only routine vaccine in pregnancy here is tetanus, and others are given only if specifically needed. Please dont decide on your own, ask the doctor.
