I had booked a protein treatment at the salon before i found out im pregnant. Now im 2nd trimester and not sure if i should go ahead with it or skip. Did anyone get hair treatments done during pregnancy?
Depends what the treatment actually contains, some have strong chemicals and fumes you ideally avoid in pregnancy. Many women wait till after delivery to be safe. Best is to tell your gynac what product it is and let them advise.
I overthink these things so I just avoided all salon chemical stuff in my pregnancy, the strong smell itself put me off. A protein mask at home felt safer to me. But honestly, one quick question to your doctor will settle your mind better than guessing.
A basic protein treatment is usually milder than smoothening or keratin which have stronger chemicals. I skipped the harsh stuff in both pregnancies and just did simple deep conditioning. If you want one, ask the salon exactly whats in it and check with your doc.
Actually I was tempted too coz my hair was a mess, but yaar I just postponed the chemical treatments till after delivery. Did simple hair spa instead. If you really want it, double check the ingredients and ask your doc first na.
