I am not able to eat enough dal or paneer because of nausea, so someone suggested protein powder. I dont want to start anything on my own. Did your doctor recommend any protein supplement?
I was using whey before pregnancy and my gynac told me to stop the random ones and switch to a plain food based diet. She said better to get protein from dal, eggs, paneer etc. Pls ask ur doc before continuing any powder.
Honestly food is enough for most of us. Eggs, milk, dahi, chana, paneer covers ur protein easily. I never touched powder in either pregnancy. If ur diet is poor then talk to doctor about a supplement instead.
I get the worry coz we hear protein is important. But i wouldnt take any powder on my own, the ingredient list matters a lot. My doctor gave me a specific maternity protein after checking, so please get it cleared first.
The issue with most protein powders is the added stuff like artificial sweeteners, caffeine, herbs etc which arent tested for pregnancy. A plain pregnancy specific one prescribed by doctor is usually fine. Dont just pick a gym brand off the shelf.
Those powders are expensive too yaar. Eggs and dal give u the same protein for way less. I focused on real food and my reports were totally fine. Spend on good food instead.
