We mostly cook in rice bran oil at home. Just wondering if its a safe choice during pregnancy ya should i switch to something else. Pls share what oil you all use.
In my house, my saas always insists on using pure mustard oil or home-made ghee during pregnancy because she says refined and rice bran oils aren't as traditional. I think she has a point, but my gynac said any oil in small quantities is fine. So we use a mix of both!
Actually, I am in my second trimester and I also had this exact doubt. My family uses rice bran oil, but I got a bit anxious and switched to olive oil and ghee just to be safe. Are you also feeling very confused about what to eat?
Listen, don't stress over this. Rice bran oil is fine for everyday cooking, but just make sure you aren't eating too much deep-fried stuff. It's best to use cold-pressed oils like mustard or groundnut, and of course, a little ghee is always great for you and the baby.
When I had severe morning sickness, even the smell of cooking oil would make me throw up. Rice bran oil has a very mild smell, which was actually a lifesaver for me! It's perfectly safe in small amounts, so if it works for your stomach, go for it.
Hey! Rice bran oil is actually pretty good because it's light and has good fats! 🍳 But to be safe, I used to rotate it with mustard oil and ghee. Just cook with very little oil and you are good! 😊
I know how much we worry about every little ingredient we eat, it's so exhausting to think about everything! Honestly, my doctor told me that using rice bran oil in moderation is completely fine for normal cooking. Just don't overdo fried foods and take care of your beautiful self.
